Even those who are not into gangs are sometimes not spared from the violence in the streets, look at the case of Derrion Albert, an honor student beaten to death while walking home from school because he got caught up in a gang war. The beating was recorded in video by one of the spectators and it is now for all the world to see, it is now known as Chicago Beating Video. The three teenagers who has beaten to death Derrion were already arrested and charged as adults for the crime that they have done. I guess they will grow old in jail if convicted. Here is the Chicago beating video, watch it if you are strong, but if you are faint-hearted never mind checking it out because it will hurt you. Roman Polanski, the award-winning filmmaker, was arrested in Switzerland Sunday. Polanski's arrest is due to sex charge filed against him in 1977. Polanski pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor in 1977; her sex partner was a 13-year-old girl. But Polanski fled the USA before a sentence could be placed on him. He lived for years in France and continued to make films, one of which is the film "The Pianist" which won him an Academy Award for Best Director. However he refused to enter the USA again to get that award fearing arrest. On Sunday, Polanski was entering Switzerland when he was arrested by Swiss police. He was on his way to Zurich Film Festival, which is holding a tribute to him.
Here is the statement of the film festival regarding his arrest:
"Roman Polanski, who is one of the greatest film directors of all time, would have been honored for his life's work in Zurich today, However yesterday, on Saturday, he was taken into custody while attempting to enter Switzerland due to a request by U.S. authorities in connection with an arrest warrant from 1978."

A 19 pound baby was born to a woman in Indonesia on Monday. The baby boy measured 24.4 inches long. The baby was delivered via cesarean section. The doctors foud it quite difficult to get the baby out of the mother's womb because of its size. "This heavy baby made the surgery really tough, especially the process of taking him out of his mum's womb. His legs were so big," said Binsar Sitanggang, one of the attending doctors that helped in the operation.

A woman from Arkansas, Julia Grovenburg, found out after a regular sonogram visit to her OB that she got pregnant twice in three week. The doctor found a new fetus which is 2 1/2 weeks old younger than the first one. This is a rare case, a pregnant woman pregnant again. This is a case of Superfetation, which is concieving while pregnant. The first fetus will be born on December 2009 and the second one will come out into this world by January 2010.

Tomorrow is the big day at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas; the octagon will be heating up for UFC 103 Franklin vs Belfort. The main event is the match between former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort and UFC superstar Rich “Ace” Franklin. Who will emerge as the victor, will it be Vitor who is trying to make a comeback, or will it be the former high school teacher for Oak Hills Local School District who is now acing in the eight-sided ring? That remains to be seen.

The Mayweather vs Marquez weigh in resulted in Mayweather having to pay Marquez an undisclosed amount for every pound that goes over the 144 limit set. Marquez came in at 144 while Mayweather ended up heavier at 146. Before the weigh in Mayweather renegotiated with the Marquez camp to have it at 147 but o course Marquez wants it at 144.
I really hope that Marquez would win but in case Mayweather wins I know that Pacquiao will beat him to a pulp when they meet in the ring.

Raymond Clark, an animal technician at Yale, is now the person of interest in the Annie Le murder case. According to reports Clark has taken a polygraph test and failed. A polygraph test is known to some a lie detector test. It has also been reported that Clark has defensive wounds on him. A defensive wound is the result of the victim's struggle against the attacker during the actual moments of the murder. Clark, who is 24, is now being hunted by the police. If it is true that Oprah wants to interview Jaycee Dugard in her show (I heard about reports of , then I can say that Oprah is selfish. She knows that Jaycee Dugard is hot topic now so she wants her in her show, doesn't she know that Jaycee Dugard needs many years to heal? Interviewing someone who has just been through such an ordeal just for the benefit of a show is sooooo selfish. I know that there are millions of Oprah fans out there but I really think that a Jaycee Dugard interview at this time is a selfish idea. Jayce Dugard now and Jaycee Dugard in many years to come would not be helped by an interview in a show like Oprah.
Kane West only showed that he is the epitome of a jackass when he stole Taylor Swift's moment at the MTV VMA two three days ago. The Kanye West Taylor Swift incident shows us how low some artists could go just to get attention. Kane West was like a streaker who knows of no other way to steal the show except by running naked across the stage while some star is performing. But Kane West is Kane West, he's alway been like that, even president Obama was said to have said off record that "Kane West is a jackass". But mind you, Kane West apologized to Taylor Swift in his website just a few moments after he showed his jackassness. But I guess the apology was only a way of adding insult to injury. If it is still up in his website you can read it, see how callously it was written. Then he also apologized to Swift at the Jay Leno show, but he appeared so insincere in his apology. Watch the video below and see if you can agree with me that he was just acting (and failed miserably) to appear sincere in his apology.
It was not the time to be bitter and get back at those who've hurt him in the past. It was the time to thank everyone, time to grateful, time to be mature. But Michael Jordan ruined it all by delivering that kind of speech. The big day for basketball was ruined because the inductee did not act like a real champion, like the way a real hall of famer should act. Of course if you are a Michael Jordan fan, you probably would fail to see what I mean. I am a Jordan fan but he disappointed me with what he has done in his Hall of Fame induction. I was surprised at how bitter he was. He has achieved so much, why would he remember those days when some people wronged him? Perhaps those things that happened to him in the past may have, in one way or another, contributed to what he has achieved so far. The first paragraph of his speech immediately signals the listeners that he's up to something bitter. Read it below.

Patrick Swayze died of advanced pancriatic cancer in his home. He was 57. He became very popular because of his roles in the films Ghost and Dirty Dancing.
Swayze has been fighting his cancer in the last 20 months, he was diagnosed with it in 2008. He managed to live past his prognosis but now he finally succumbed to it. Swayze will surely be missed.

Kanye West has always been rude, his callousness showed at the MTV VMA 2009 when he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video at MTV's "2009 Video Music Awards." He said that Beyonce's music video should have won the moon-man. "Beyonce had the best video," he said, taking the microphone from Swift. Swift, looking taken aback, left the stage following West's outburst.What the heck! This man's actions reflects his bad music. I never liked his "music" which can't be considered music but a jumble of non-sense sounds. Anyways, I think Taylor Swift's video deserves the award.

Of course the big loser here is Serena Williams. I think she deserves it. But what was it exactly that she said? What did Serena Williams say to the linesman that deserves to be rewarded with a sweet default. Nothing, she just let out something like this: “I swear to god I’m f***kin going to take this ball and shove it down your f**kin mouth.” If it is true that she really said these words, then it is nice that she was sent home with the controversy over her unsportsmanlike head. After the penalty point cost her the match, she walked over to a bewildered Clijsters standing at the other baseline and shook her hand.

Actually Williams was on the way to a big loss that is why she was not in a good mood. When a foot fault was put on her by the linesman all broke loose and she started spitting obscenities at the linesman. The umpire had no choice but to send her home as a big controversial loser. Here's a secret: I hate football, I do not really enjoy watching those men in helmets and oversized padding hurting each other just for that misshaped ball, really I could not get the point what they do on the field. A Nebraskan photographer who specializes in taking photos of sleeping bbies was featured on the Today Show this morning. Tracy Raver talked about her work and how she loves her craft. According to her, "babies are naturally sleepy" that is why it is quite easy for her to photograph them. Here's more of what she said about how she does her work:
“The babies have to be very very warm, so we crank it up to about 85 degrees, and we ask the moms that they have their bellies nice and full before they leave so that the drive to the studio gets them nice and sleepy in the car.”

Caster Semenya, the world champion sprinter who became controversial after her gender was questioned when she won the championship last month, is in the cover of You Magazine. The US Open Tennis 2009 results for day 6 brings some unexpected big upsets. Andy Roddick, Maria Sharapova and Dinara Safina, some of the big names in the US Open Tennis 2009 all exited the game yesterday in what turned out to be the day of the underdogs. Andy Roddick lost to the underdog John Isner in the fifth set tie breaker. Dinara Safina was beaten by Petra Kvitova, and like what happened to Isner, Safina lost the first set(4 – 6) but was able recover during the second set(6 – 2). I remembered how it caused me to ROFL. Now AP has committed another blunder, this time by publishing an image of a dying soldier despite the fact that the soldier's father had asked AP to pull off the image because it adds to the pain the family feels about the loss of their son. The AP photo of a dying marine has caused a lot of controversy. Is it proper to publish such kind of photos? AP justifies their act by saying that they just want to “convey(s) the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.” But here are the rules of publishing photos:
“The rule regarding coverage of “wounded, injured, and ill personnel” states that the “governing concerns” are “patient welfare, patient privacy and next of kin/family considerations.”
“Casualties may be covered by embedded media as long as the service member’s identity and unit identification is protected from disclosure until OASD-PA [Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs] has officially released the name. Photography from a respectful distance or from angles at which a casualty cannot be identified is permissible; however, no recording of ramp ceremonies or remains transfers is permitted.”

AP claims that they just want to “convey the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.” My say: convey the grimness of war my foot. Is it really how they see their act? Rapper Max B was sentenced today to 75 years in prison for his role in a robbery that resulted in the death of a man named David Taylor. Max B, his stepbrother Kelvin Leerdam, and girlfriend, Gina Conway, robbed David Taylor and Allan Plowden and killed Taylor in the process. Conway testified against Max B in court in exchange to a lighter sentence.
Max B told XXLMag.com his prospect releasing music even if he is in jail.

No wonder the Philippines in such a messy state. I wonder why such stupid persons are able to stay in power, look at how Mikey Arroyo defends himself. It would have been better if he said that he won the lottery to justify his unexplained wealth.
Here's an example of a video ad that is in very bad taste. In making an ad, there are many people that are involved, my question is, didn't it occur to the makers of this ad (DDB Brazil and WWF) that it is in bad taste? WTF were they drinking when they brainstormed and created this video ad?

Whitney Houston's performance on Good Morning America was not that perfect but at least she's showing that she's making a come back. Jaycee Dugard Daughters Photos

But of course Jaycee Dugard's daughters' photos should not be shown to the public to protect the privacy of the children; they are minors and could possibly be victims of sexual abuse too like Jaycee. The said photos were taken two days before Philip Garrido and his wife were arrested. The girls attended a birthday party of the daughter of Garrido's business associate, Cheyvonne Molino. According to Molino she noticed nothing strange about the girls, they acted like normal kids, she said. "I met his daughters, I watched them grow up," she said. Molino also said that she knew Jaycee Dugard, who, according to her, was a graphic designer at Garrido's printing business. "You could always call her at any time or email," she said. She was "just your normal 20-year-old."

Gmail down? I did not know it until just recently. I did not experience any Gmail outage at all, I have just accessed my Gmail and I haven't noticed any problem. But of course many users around the world are saying that they have experience Gmail outage, many could not really access their mail. There is a post in the Gmail Blog about the Gmail outage:

Mar Roxas has just announced that he no longer wants to be president, he apparently saw the need for Noynoy Aquino to be president. Woot? Mar Roxas is stepping aside? He's been dreaming about becoming president for years and do you honestly believe that he'll just give it away like that? I don't believe it. The election is still many months away, many things could happen. If you play chess, you do not easily believe the apparent implications of your opponent's moves. I guess this is just Mar Roxas' tactic to get media mileage, to gain more attention, and to secure the presidency for himself. I know that Mar Roxas really really wants to be president (you can see it in how desperate his TV ads are) but because recent surveys are not favorable to him, he needs something to change the public's view of Mar Roxas and this is one way to do it. This is just my opinion, I don't believe easily, especially in politicians.
